Larry Conners is currently the 5 & 10pm weekday news anchor for KMOV-Channel 4/CBS in St. Louis.

Larry moved to St. Louis in 1975 and joined KMOV. In 1979, he was named prime anchor for KTVI-Channel 2/ABC in St. Louis, but returned as prime anchor to KMOV in 1986.

Larry's won numerous awards and honors for his work in broadcasting and the community. He's received 7 prestigious Emmy awards and several awards from the Associated Press and United Press for exceptional news work and documentaries. He's been honored with special recognition from various groups including, the American Bar Association, St. Louis University, St. Louis Toastmasters, Big Brothers / Big Sisters, Lifeseekers and received The George Washington Freedom Foundation Award.

Larry has served as a speaker and master of ceremonies for many major events including the St. Louis Mayor's Prayer Breakfast and was Master of Ceremonies at the Gubernatorial Ball following the Inauguration of Missouri Governor John Ashcroft. He has served as Honorary Chair of KMOV's annual "Kids Caring for Kids" toy and food drive, host and master of ceremonies for the YWCA's "Partners with Youth Campaign".

In 1992, Larry created "American Radio Programs". He's been the writer, producer and narrator of AN AMERICAN STORY and AMERICAN: FACT OR FICTION?. These programs air on KMOX Radio in St. Louis and other stations across Missouri and Illinois. AN AMERICAN STORY is a series of stories that features slices of American life with humor, positive messages and emphasize the importance of family and community values. AMERICAN: FACT OR FICTION? is a series of trivia questions testing the audience. Larry has also served as radio news anchor and host of his own show on KMOX.

In 1963, Larry began his broadcast career at KBST and KBYG in Big Spring, Texas. He worked as a disc jockey, radio salesman, show host, reporter and news anchor. Later, he became News Director of KIXZ radio in Amarillo, Texas. Then, he became investigative reporter and anchor at KVII-TV in Amarillo. He moved to Houston and joined KTRK-TV as investigative reporter and anchor.

In Larry's years of news .. he's reported on and written thousands of stories. Some examples include: The Chicken Ranch - The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, The Huntsville, Texas Prison Break, The Houston Mass Murders, corruption in the Houston Police Department, commercial airplane crashes and tornados in Texas, Missouri and Illinois, The Hyatt Regency Disaster in Kansas City, the prelude to the Persian Gulf War and countless political elections. Larry also stood on top of the Arch in St. Louis and took a direct hit to the chest from a Taser.

Larry has a B.S. Degree in Political Science from West Texas State University. He has a pilot's license --- commercial/multi-engine/instrument rated; most recently he's been flying a B58P and Duke. Larry has a Harley Davidson Heritage Classic and has a suspicious golf handicap.

Larry is President of L.C. Syndicate, Inc. / Larry Conners Agency which produces radio shows.

Larry is married to Janet Conners, who is President of Conners Communications, a marketing/public relations/consulting enterprise.
